Summer Bonding (with GlueDots)

Being that I have this raging Twitter addiction it made total sense to for me to join the Twitter Moms Network thus combining those special things that dominate my day.. kids and tweets! It’s been a blast too. I’ve gotten to attend cyber wine tastings and twitter parties galore,  like the one that featured my culinary crush Tyler Florence (oh he is simply yummy!).  By far though the biggest blast I’ve had was playing with GlueDots and being part of the Summer Bonding project!

The gang over at GlueDots sent me and the lil’ Nuggets samples of several of their products and went to town! We used them all over the place. (They even have Glue Dots Facebook fan page)

It’s hard to keep four kids happy all summer long. Forget about finding things to do, often times the hardest part is quelling the arguments about who gets to decide what we do. It’s enough to drive one to the nearest shrink’s sofa. Enter GlueDots! With a quick trip to the craft store and $5 I saved my ever fragile sanity with this

Paper flowers & Paper pot w/note cards = Mom's Sanity Saved!

On each note card is one of our favorite family activities. Each day a different kid gets to pick one out and Wha-La no squabbling!

We all gathered up memories of our summer getaways and created this cute box together

Bright colors and a Summer theme

An added bonus… by putting decor on the face of the box that not only tells me what year and season the box contains it also gives clues as to what we did. This way when it’s packed on the shelf with all the other memory boxes I can tell what’s it the darn thing. Heck it’s almost like I’m organized or something crazy like that!

Little clues tell me what memories are in the box. The beach, Hershey Park, Science Center and more..

And the crowning jewel of our bonding time with GlueDots and each other was bringing one of our favorite family TV times and our passion for going green together for a three day craft extravaganza we called..

Using paper bags from the grocery, some paint, glitter, coffee filters, old paper napkins, ribbon, an old plastic take-out box, some floral remnants and GlueDots we did our best to… “Make it Work”

Paper bags become fabric.. paint the design medium

Our model rocks the cat walk in a chic flapper inspired skirt and an off the shoulder top embellished with floral and a bold splash of color. Our young designers finish off their unique look with a custom handbag

Watch out Hedi Klume this little one has her sights on your job! Shoes courtsey of mommy's closet

We all had such a blast and I suspect we did Tim Gunn proud!

Glue Dots are a great and safe alternative to typical tapes and glue guns. Obviously, they are versatile and work on a variety of surfaces including: paper/photos, metal, wood, plastic, textiles and fibers, plastic, foam, and more! Bonding instantly, they require no dry time and provide instant gratification for kids and adults. Glue Dots provide the strength you need in an adhesive without the mess and dry time of liquid glues.  Plus they can really help you create hours of family bonding time and memories that will stick with you as they grow up!

I wrote this blog post while participating in the TwitterMoms and Glue Dots blogging contest to be eligible to receive a $30 gift card. As always though I only blog about things that I think my readers will enjoy. All opinions and projects in this post are my own. For more information on how you can participate, click here
