Get To Know Me

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

That quote pretty much holds true for getting older, raising kids, and the discovery of odd facial hair.  About Lara DiPaola… {obligatory SEO insertion} I am a mom of four, semi-professional grownup, global gadabout and a woman who lives in mortal fear of magnifying mirrors, I’ve tested the theory.  This blog is where my stunned silences turn into stories that I hope a few people {who aren’t related to me} might enjoy reading.

Beyond the growing pains, luggage that never quite gets completely unpacked, and a wholly unhealthy relationship with exfoliation products, I am also a proud veteran {NAVY – Never. Again. Volunteer. Yourself}, wine maker, travel addict, cookbook collector, and marketing chick.

Why “Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom”? When I started this blog back in the early 2000s my youngest son refused to eat anything not in nugget form. We told him it was all chicken – I’m sure I’ll be on the hook for his therapy when he reads this. Mired in motherhood, my world at the time was overrun with nuggets sending me on a search for wisdom.  So, Chicken Nuggets of Wisdom. {yeah, that sounds good enough.}

All that storytelling and a raging case of wanderlust has taken me everywhere from small villages in far-flung places to the White House. In 2014 I was honored to join a group called the Top 100 Travel Bloggers at the inaugural White House Travel Bloggers Summit on Study AbroadWhat a wild ride life is proving to be.

About Lara DiPaola
This is me. Hi!

Take a nugget, leave a nugget. I love comments, shares and getting to know the strangers on the other side of the screen. Had enough of The Nuggets but not enough of Moi? You can find some of my other words here:

    1. Thanks Mom. Any talent I may have can surely be credited to genetics. Considering my storied history of lacking physical grace (Seriously, who gets second degree burns on their ass AND nose?!) breaking a leg may be very real possibility.
