You know you’ve done it. Sworn to yourself that you’d NEVER do, or say, that when you had kids of your own. Come hell or high water you would never grow up to be like your mom! Well Nuggetiers I’m hear to tell you… GIVE. UP. NOW.
It’s likely that you’ve already become her, or if you haven’t you will.
Now don’t go beating yourself up over this, you see it was inevitable. You’d have better luck defying gravity or finding your size at the annual “Our prices have never been lower blow-out-clearance-sale-of-the-century”. The reality is that there exists a little spoken of law of nature that dooms one to become their mother, no matter what steps they take. It’s the universal law of “Because I Said So!” and you can’t avoid it.
I dare you to try.
Go ahead, put it to the test. Ask your kids to pick up their socks, the ones they -once again- left in the middle of the living room floor. Better yet, try telling them to clean their room, eat brussel sprouts or walk the dog. Oh you might be able to give them a logical dissertation on why they should do it. Ultimately though -after the sixth or seventh time through your little exercise in the futility of logic as it applies to your offspring- you’ll find yourself, head in hand, hollering…
BECAUSE I SAID SO!
